My favorite film: The Great Dictator *

I mention this fiim because, in my opinion, it's a mark in the human history. The Great Dictator is a comedy and it stars Charles Chaplin, who also directed it.

The film was made in 1940, and is set in the First and the Second World War. In the movie Chaplin acts as tho characters: a barber that, in the past, was a war's soldier, and currently lives in a jew ghetto; Another character is the dictator who governs a figurative empire called Tomania. This dictator is a clear allusion to Adolf Hitler. But the führer is parodied by Chaplin.

Chaplin deals a theme so serious and so sad like the war, with grace and delicacy. It's a funny, exciting and interesting story. Some scenes are great, like the globe's scene, which he (the dictator) jokes and dances with a globe-ballon.

This film got five nominations to 1941's Oscar.
